OPEN 24/7: SONA 2014 - Mr. President, ANYARE?

Anong nangyari sa ating dalawa
Akala ko non tayo ay iisa
Ako ba ang siyang nagkulang
O ikaw ang di lumaban
Sa pagsubok sa ating pagmamahalan

Everyone is familiar with the novel The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, right? For those who are not, you can read the synopsis here: The Hunger Games Synopsis But to make this short, one of the scenes in the movie reminded me with what just happened recently. Do you think what I am thinking? Yes, the STATE OF THE NATION ADDRESS of our President Benigno "Noynoy" Simeon Aquino III. During the his speech there were things that reminded me of President Snow. Not that they look the same physically but it's about the situation itself. President Aquino will say something that he achieved during the past year and all of the people gathered will applaud - just like in the movie. I am not saying that the movie is true, yes it is fictional but how come I can see some resemblance in real life, especially in our country.

I know that the previous administration has left a huge problem not only to the preceding administration but of course the citizens of the whole country. I also know that change will not be as a snap, but there should be SOME change that the people can see and experience. Yes, he said in his speech that he made some things that really improved and had a good effect to the country but how come that the only people who experience these change are those high class to those middle class. Did he just say that to give the people HOPE? Oh, maybe just like President Snow.

There were things mentioned on his speech that sugarcoated the real problems that the citizens should know. The SONA is not held to tell the people that they should be delighted with what he has done. It should  be the report of the president to the country's citizen or on his term his BOSS. I would want to trust our president and the way he leads the country, but the more I think of what the reality the more it is difficult for me to do so. Another thing, when he got emotional during his speech because of quoting his parents, P-Noy, please, the people that you are leading are not that gullible anymore. Being dramatic in front of them will not do anything to improve your ratings. If you would want to be liked don't act like a dumbass president. Do not cover up those people that did something wrong. For your last year being the president, I really wish that there is a huge change that all of the Filipinos will experience and see. And hopefully (you see, we are hoping for something good) we can sincerely applaud and not think that this  was another wasted year.

I will not enumerate all the things he said on his 1 hour and 30 minuntes speech. You can read it here:

Or you can watch it here.
